![]() December 30th will turn out to be a memorable day for all Eagle phans. It was the pitiful end of the Andy Reid era and a rather enjoyable Romo-like December collapse for the Dallas Cowgirls. As every Eagle fan on the planet tuned into NBC at 8:20 Sunday night we were all hoping and wishing for some more RG3 highlights. The impressive rookie did not disappoint. With the giant help of fellow sensational rookie Alfred Morris the Skins won their 7th straight with a 28-18 victory in Landover, MD. I write this short story only as I revel in another Cowgirls late season collapse. It is the joy of every Philadelphian, every Eagles nation representer to witness such a collapse. For as long as I can remember being an Eagles phan comes with much ridicule and much heckling. "How many rings do you got?!" "We've got more rings than you have Super Bowl appearances!" "Have you ever even been to Dallas??" :) So it is with great joy that I go to sleep tonight. The Dallas Cowboys have won ONE playoff game since 1997. It is hard as an Eagles phan to argue "rings" with Cowgirl fans, but how about relevance?!? Talk to me the next time you do something, anything of relevance in January! Thus begins a new era of Eagles football. It is with a hint of sadness that I watch Big Red leave, knowing what he did for this franchise in his 14 years. I thank him for his time here, for making the Eagles brand of football a respectable one. Yes that brand weakened and became stale in the last few years but he did a "heck of a job" making this team championship caliber year in and year out. He coached some of the all-time Eagle greats in B-Dawk, Five, B-West, Tra Thomas, D-Jack, Trent Cole. He had some great drafts and some forgettable ones but it was Eagles football that was fun to watch. I'll never forget that Super Bowl run in 2004 and the excitement it brought to the city of Philadelphia! I will also never forget the those painful NFC Championship losses and the silence on South Street after the Super Bowl loss. It will be sad to see that big furry mustache go, thanks Andy. But I am excited to see what is on the horizon for the Philadelphia Eagles! A fresh start, a new beginning. At least we realize we desperately need a new QB and coach. Them "boys" in Dallas still haven't gotten the memo. Goodnight Philadelphia.!
