![]() Well it seems as if the college rank coachs have all gotten together and conspired how they can make the Eagles coaching search look like a laughing stock. Thanks alot guys!! Chip Kelly, Bill O'Brien, Brian Kelly all have met with Jefferey Lurie and Howie Roseman only to say "Thanks, but no thanks." Looking at the plethora of openings after Black Monday it seemed as if the Eagles would be an attractive destination. The truth is that for most college coaches Philadelphia is not a destination of choice. Quite frankly I am okay with that. I didn't want any of you guys anyway! This brings me to my number once choice for the next coach of the beloved Philadelphia Eagles: Gus Bradley. Since the firing of Andy Reid on December 31st phans have been patiently waiting for his successor. Oh what big pants to fill! It seems as if months have passed since the ushering out of Big Red.
I spoke on it briefly in a previous blog about Lovie Smith, that the Birds desperately need a defensive minded coach. Gus Bradley is our man! Gus's first taste of the NFL was working under famed defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin in Tampa Bay. Gus spent two seasons as defensive quality control coach and linebackers coach learning from one of the greatest defensive minds in football. Kiffin, the man who instituted the Tampa 2 defense. Hopefully at age 72 Kiffin has no genius left! In 2009 Bradley became defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, recommended to Seattle by Kiffin. Bradley took a defense that in 2009 was 24th in yards allowed and 25th in points allowed, to a defense in 2012 that was 4th in yards allowed and 1st in points allowed. If you look up and down Seattle's defensive roster you don't see alot of big name players. His body of work in Seattle speaks for itself. At age 46, Bradley is considered by many to be a bright mind with a bright future. Gus is a leader, a teacher and a motivator. He is a players coach and it is clear in Seattle that players want to play for him. There is alot more to being a head coach than just what you do on the field. Gus deserves a shot at being a head coach in this league and is going to get his shot, I just hope it comes with our Philadelphia Eagles! We need to get back to the days of an all kelly green Pro Bowl. The days of the body bag game, the days that staring across the line and seeing that Eagles D scared the crap out of you. Gus Bradley will bring that toughness back to Philly! So I say no to Jay Gruden, Mike McCoy, Brian Billick or Lovie Smith and yes to Gus Bradely. Trust in Gus! Steve Glick Brotherly Love Nation

I Agree. Wasnt to high on any college coaches other than O'Brien for the simple fact of him in New England and his implement of the two tight end formation he built. But as I have said in the past Gus would be my ideal hire. Still can't believe they haven't even spoken To Jon Gruden though. Gus is for Us!

Agreed, I liked BOB, didn't want him to leave Penn State as I am a fan. Wasn't all that high on Chip Kelly or Brian Kelly.
